Assessment System

A student's academic process is monitored in various ways; informally by the teacher's observation and more formally by assessment of class-work, tests and examinations. Class teachers conduct a series of assessments throughout the year such as quizzes, topic tests, projects, oral work etc. plus their observation of the student's performance in the classroom. Some of these assessments are conducted without prior warning to the students; others are given after a period of preparation. From time to time there will be fuller tests.

Term tests are held to assess the student's progress and assimilation of knowledge. Considerable emphasis is laid on spoken English. PT and sports are compulsory for all students. Promotion to the next class is granted on the basis of student performance in the examinations and the term tests. The minimum pass marks in each subject is 50%. Those who obtained 80% marks or above, their positions are declared as Distinctive.
