Academics

The academic year is divided into two terms, first term is called the Mid term and second term is called the Annual Examination. Exact dates from the beginning to the end of term vary from year to year and parents are also informed accordingly. Inquiry should be made at the school.

The APSS Primary Program offers programs within the Primary school that are based on sound educational principles and practices. The medium of instruction is English. The school follows the course and syllabi of Cambridge System and Matriculation System. The curriculum is well balanced with effective blend of Science and Humanities to enable students to select any group at the end of class VII, vis-à-vis to follow "O" Levels' or Matriculation System. The school strives to provide the best educational opportunities and experiences for the students and every effort is made to meet individual needs and interests and to ensure that high self-esteem is maintained in each student.

By providing a caring and supportive classroom environment, the students are encouraged to develop independence, a respect for others and a sense of responsibility for themselves. By working both independently and in cooperative groups, our boy and girls develop lifelong learning skills. The curriculum emphasizes traditional disciplines, including English language arts (e.g. English usage, writing etc.), Urdu, Islamic Studies, Math, Social studies, Science, Arts, Music, Computers and Physical fitness and Health.

Though the primary language of instruction is English, Urdu is taught as part of the regular curriculum as a language course.

It is important for parents to realize that the textbook is not the course. The prescribed books on the booklist are the best books which the school could select to assist in the teaching of the course. Significant use will be made of these texts and workbooks but not all the work in the textbook will necessarily be covered and other work not in the text will also be done
